The city of Quincy is in the market for a new Director of Central Services.

City officials announced Friday that interim director Jon Vrandenburg had been dismissed from his position and would not be considered for the position on a permanent basis.

Vrandenburg had been hired as interim director of Central Services, replacing Marty Stegeman in July of 2015.

The Quincy City Council passed as ordinance some time ago, limiting interim appointments to no more than six months. Vrandenburg reached the six-month mark last Friday.

Mayor Kyle Moore said he expects a new Central Services Director to be named in the next few weeks.

Quincy’s Director of Central Services oversees the departments of Forestry, Paint and Sign, garbage, recycling, water, sewer, fleet maintenance and facility management.
