On 06/15/15 at approximately 0314 hours, the Quincy Police Department and Quincy Fire Department were sent to 603 N 8th Street in reference to a structure fire.  

Upon arrival, police and fire personnel located smoke coming from the roof and second story windows. Upon further investigation, police and fire personnel located a fire scene that had been recently extinguished on the second floor of the residence.

While investigating the fire scene, personnel located items consistent with illegal drug activity. The resident of 603 N 8th street, Brett Gipson, was located coming out of the residence and was ultimately taken into custody and transported to Quincy Police Headquarters.

A later consent search of the residence revealed items consistent with the manufacture of methamphetamine to include "One Pot" cooking vessels, HCL generators, coffee filters, finished methamphetamine, and other meth manufacturing materials.

Gipson was ultimately lodged in the Adams County Jail for Aggravated Meth Manufacturing and Possession of Methamphetamine.
