Registration for Quincy Community Theatre's Spring Education Classes is now open to all interested Tri-State students and adults. All classes are taught by QCT Student Theatre Director, Brandon Thomsen, or other professional guest instructors.

This Spring’s classes include:

  • Act It Out—Fairytale Fun instructed by Marion Denckla-Dye, where children (GRADES K-3) will act out their favorite fairytales from Cinderella to Aladdin, and many more—all the while playing fun theatrical games and working on an original fairytale to be presented on the last day of class! Saturdays: Jan. 19-Feb. 23. Tuition: $70
  • Acting inside the Box!!! instructed by Mindy Holthaus, allowing students (GRADES 4-6) to play fun improvisational games and create various scenes from a box, filled with new props and costumes every week! Mondays: Feb. 11-March 18. Tuition: $60
  • An Acting Class for Adults helping adults (AGES 18 & UP) discover how action and behavior shape characterization as they track their character’s journey through a scene. Mondays: Feb. 18-March 25. Tuition: $65
  • I Want! I Want! I Want! where students (GRADES 7-9) will learn to become stronger actors by identifying their characters’ “wants” in a scene. Mondays & Wednesdays: Feb. 25-March 20. Tuition: $65
  • Curtain Up in which children (GRADES K-3) will use theatre games, storytelling, and role-playing to stretch their imaginations. Tuesdays & Thursdays: Feb. 26-March 26. Tuition: $60
  • Phony. It’s an Art instructed by Seth Campbell, teaching students (GRADES 7-12) how to paint scenic elements such as brick, wood grain, etc. to look like the real thing. Saturdays: March 26, April 6 & 13. Tuition: $45
  • Is There An Actor in the House? in which students (GRADES 4-6) will learn the fundamentals of acting in a fun, supportive, and creative atmosphere. Mondays & Thursdays: April 8-May 2. Tuition: $65
  • Acting the Song instructed by Tricia Bart, (GRADES 7-9) exploring how one brings acting technique to the interpretation of a song while working with traditional musical theatre repertoire. Students will prepare a new song each week, culminating in an acting piece comprised of a monologue. Wednesdays: April 10-May 15. Tuition: $65
  • Acting the Song instructed by Tricia Bart, (GRADES 10-ADULT) exploring how one brings acting technique to the interpretation of a song while working with traditional musical theatre repertoire. Students will prepare a new song each week, culminating in an acting piece comprised of a monologue. Thursdays: April 11-May 16. Tuition: $65
  • Sewing Basics and Intro to Costume Construction instructed by Anna Grywalski, teaching students (GRADES 7-12) in hand sewing stitches and machine sewing basics—the building blocks of costume construction. Fridays: April 12-May 3. Tuition: $65
