In celebration of National American Sign Language Day on April 15, the Quincy University Sign Interpreter’s Association will host a lunch for the deaf community beginning at noon in the Quincy University Main Dining Room (1810 Lind Street). At the lunch, students will demonstrate American Sign Language through a series of facets.

In addition, sign language instructor Paul Kiel will host a Sign Language Lunch-and-Learn from noon until 1:00 pm in Francis Hall room 339. Attendees are invited to bring their lunch and learn the basics of ASL. Seating is limited to the first ten to RSVP. To register, contact Paul Kiel at kielpa@quincy.edu.

At 6:00 pm, QUSIA will host a movie night in room 432 of Francis Hall. The movie, Lake Windfall, will be close captioned. Admission is $2 and includes unlimited drinks. For an additional $3, attendees also receive a sandwich, chips, and dessert. The event is open to the public.

Celebrated every year on April 15, National ASL Day commemorates the beginning of American Sign Language on April 15, 1817.
