On Saturday, April 27, the Quincy Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will give the public another opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted medications.

Bring your medications for disposal to the Quincy Mall, Quincy Police Sub-Post (enter at door #1).  The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.  Controlled, non-controlled, and over the counter substances will be collected.

Liquid products, such as cough syrup, should remain in their sealed containers and participants should ensure that the cap is tightly sealed to prevent leakage. Intra-venous solutions, injectables, and syringes will not be accepted due to the potential hazard posed by blood-borne pathogens.

Please utilize this great opportunity to clean your medicine cabinet!  If you have any questions before the event, feel free to call the Pro-Act Unit at the Quincy Police Department at 228-4485.
