A pursuit that begins in Ralls County and ends in Hannibal results in the arrests of two men on drug related charges.

Ralls County Sheriff Gerry Dinwiddie reports the pursuit of a car Monday afternoon that contained an active meth lab and drug paraphernalia.

The chase began on Highway 61 in Ralls County, continued on Warren Barrett Drive into Hannibal, ending when spike strips were placed in the roadway at South Arch and Warren Barrett by Hannibal Police. The vehicle avoided the strips, lost control and struck a minivan with three occupants.

One suspect was apprehended at the scene. The other was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit.

Arrested were 28 year old Charles Elliott of Hannibal and 34 year old Robert Bailey of Palmyra.

Both are in the Marion County Jail pending the filing of formal charges.
