The votes are in, and we know now what the retaining wall at the west end of the new Champ Clark Bridge will look like.

Massman Construction recently posted a poll, giving the public a choice in the color and pattern for the new wall.

Design-build coordinator for the new bridge, Michael Massman, reports that a total of 576 votes were cast. Of the choices, nearly 90 percent of those casting ballots chose ledgestone as the pattern, with nearly 60 percent wanting the wall to be rosemary in color.

Massman says the next step is to order the materials, with construction on the wall expected to begin this spring.
