The public is invited to comment on the future of Hannibal’s Mark Twain Avenue at a meeting to be held Tuesday.

The open-house style meeting regarding proposed changes to Mark Twain Avenue takes place Tuesday evening in the lobby of Hannibal City Hall.  Representatives will be available to answer questions from the public.  No formal presentation will be made.  Those interested may come any time between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.

MoDot and the City of Hannibal are proposing to reduce Mark Twain Avenue from 5 lanes to 3, add bike lanes on either side and upgrade sidewalks in 2015.  The entire section as well as MO 79/ Third Street would then be resurfaced, ending at Stowell School.
