Probable cause was found Wednesday for a Quincy woman to stand trial on charges connected with the death of her seven year old daughter last May.

30 year old Karen Torres is charged with obstruction of justice in the shooting death of Melina Torres in rural Adams County.

Three others were charged in connection with the death.

Melina’s uncle, 33 year old Daniel Roberts of Quincy, pled guilty to endangering the life of a child and possession of a weapon by a felon. He was sentenced to 4 and-a-half years in prison.

The girl’s grandmother, 50 year old Julie Roberts-Cole of Barry, pleaded guilty to obstruction of a peace officer. She will be sentenced November 10th.

30 year old Shannon Combes of Quincy has pled not guilty to possession of a weapon by a felon. She is scheduled to go to trial in December.

Karen Torres is set for arraignment November 30th.
