Prince Had Surprise St. Louis Shows Planned

By now, you’ll have heard about the latest in a string of 2016 tragedies in the music world: Prince. The legend passed away in his Minnesota home this morning and the news, appropriately, spread quickly thereafter.

What you may not know is that prior to becoming ill, Prince was planning two surprise pop-up St. Louis concerts at the Fox Theatre on April 18—just three days prior to his untimely death. The announcement came via the St. Louis Post Dispatch and representatives of the Fox Theatre.

Prince came down with flu-like symptoms and after cancelling the shows, he requested the news remain top secret.
