Police report that they have arrested a Hannibal man in connection with the death of 28-year-old Jennie Jo Blankenship. The identity of the suspect has not yet been released. 

Officers were dispatched to a home in the 200 block of South 9th Street to investigate a death at approximately 2:21 p.m. on August 16. According to Hannibal Police Chief Lyndell Davis, the death is being investigated as a potential homicide. "This is an isolated incident and there appears to be no risk to the community at large," said Chief Davis in a news release from the department.

The investigation is ongoing. Further details will be released as they become available.

The investigation by the Hannibal Police Department into the death of female identified as Jennie Jo Blankenship, 28 of Hannibal led to the arrest of a Hannibal man on Monday.  The investigation into this incident is on-going with further details to be released at a later time when deemed appropriate to do so.

On Sunday, August 16, 2015 at 2:21 PM Officers with the Hannibal Police Department were called to an address in the 200 block of South 9th Street for a death investigation. The investigation is still ongoing and no details will be released until notifications have been made and a full investigation has been properly conducted.

A criminal charge is merely an allegation and the defendant is, of course, presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
