Attorneys for Curtis Lovelace want a postponement and a change of venue in his retrial on first degree murder charges.

Attorneys with the Exoneration Project who represent Lovelace filed an unopposed motion Thursday to move the trial date. A status hearing is set for September 8th. The first trial ended with a hung jury in February. Lovelace is under home confinement after Judge Bob Hardwick granted a motion in June to reduce Lovelace’s bond. Lovelace was arrested on the first degree murder charges in late August of 2014. Lovelace is accused of killing his first wife Cory on February 14 of 2006.
