Police: Sikeston Man Killed Woman, Then Himself

Police in the southeast Missouri town of Sikeston say a man fatally shot a woman, then killed himself.

The Sikeston Standard Democrat reports that police were called before 5 a.m. Tuesday to an apartment and found the bodies of 26-year-old Candace Baum and 58-year-old James Wilder. A joint investigation by police and New Madrid County Coroner George DeLisle ruled the killings a murder-suicide.

A motive for the crime was not immediately clear.
