Police responded to a call regarding shots being fired from an automobile one mile north of Payson on Highway 96 on Friday afternoon.

Deputies were advised that someone in a white Chevy Silverado had possibly shot at another vehicle. Per the police report, the truck has half doors, tinted windows, and a white decal in the upper right hand corner of the rear window. Deputies were unable to locate the truck.

No one was injured during the incident. The Sheriff's Office coordinated with Payson Schools to ensure that all students were released safely from school. No lockdown was called. The Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with information as the the whereabouts or the identity of the truck in question to call the 911 emergency line (217-222-9360) and a deputy will return your call.
