(PALMYRA)—Two adults and a juvenile face trespassing charges following an apparent game of chicken with a Burlington Northern Santa Fe freight train in Palmyra last month.

At 11:30 p-m July 25, a BNSF train stopped because its conductor thought they hit someone on the tracks. Palmyra Police were flagged down and told of the impact near the Ross Street overpass.

No one was located during the search but Palmyra Police received an anonymous tip on July 26 naming three people possibly involved. Palmyra police say the three confessed to trespassing on railroad property and that one of the individuals was hit by the train and sustained minor injuries. Two adults were released pending warrants from the Marion County Prosecuting Attorney’s office. The juvenile was released with paperwork sent to the juvenile justice center.
