Both the Hannibal Pirates and Palmyra Panthers ran their records to 3-0 with wins on the road Friday night.

Hannibal won big at Boonville Friday night, prevailing 51-7.

The story of this game was the performance of running back Shamar Griffith. He scored six touchdowns and wound up the night with 366 yards rushing on 23 carries.

At Highland, Palmyra remained unbeaten with a 48-6 victory over the Cougars.

Senior Quarterback Ben Cheffey threw touchdown passes to Will Obert and Junior Smith  and scored once himself.

Among the other scoring highlights were a 55 yard scoring run by James Easley, a 65 yard kickoff return by Phillip Bland, and a 69 yard run to the house by Hunter Crane.

The Pirates and Panthers both return home next Friday night, with Hannibal entertaining Mexico and Palmyra hosting the South Shelby Cardinals.
