Pike, IL ATV Fatality

(Milton, Ill)—The Pike County Sheriff’s Department reports a Belleville woman is dead as the result of a 4-wheeler accident in a rural part of the county.  The wreck happened around 11 p.m. Friday near Milton, Ill. when 27 year-old Caitlin Kirschenman of Belleville was a passenger on an ATV operated by 24 year-old Thomas Druhe of Granite City.  Officials say Druhe struck a pile of logs in the grass, causing the ATV to overturn and land on both occupants. Kirschenman was pronounced dead at Illini Community Hospital. Druhe was taken to the hospital and faces charges of driving under the influence.
