Pike County is still waiting for a federal check which would pay for repairs after extensive flood damage earlier this year.

Commissioners met recently with representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, which is still compiling data.
The reimbursement process began back in August after President Barack Obama approved Governor Jay Nixon’s request for a federal disaster declaration in almost 70 Missouri counties.
The damage in Pike County was estimated at almost a half-million dollars, while statewide the bill was projected at 38 million dollars.
Pike County got more than half of its annual rainfall total in just the three months from May to July, and had its ninth-worst flood in the last 200 years.
