Pike County Charges Filed Against Mathew Clark

Officials in Pike County file charges against a Quincy man already in jail in Adams for burglary and theft. 

Pike County State’s Attorney Matt Goetten announced the filing of two counts of arson and one count of theft against 25-year-old Mathew Clark.

Clark is alleged to have stolen a truck from Transitions of Western Illinois in Quincy last August and drove it to Pike County. The truck destroyed in a barn fire north of the Interstate 72/172 interchange.

Clark also faces two counts of burglary and three counts of theft in Adams County.

At the time, Clark was on probation for burglary and arson in connection with the fire that destroyed the Newcomb Hotel in Quincy.
