Pearl Man Facing Drug Induced Homicide Charges

(PITTSFIELD)—A man accused of drug induced homicide in the death of a Milton woman is to be back in court January 8.

24-year-old John Edgar of Pearl is charged in the death of 47-year-old Shanda Lopez of Milton. She was pronounced dead at her home September 26. Investigators say Lopez died of opiate intoxication—or a heroin overdose.

Edgar is held on reduced bond of 100-thousand dollars in the Pike County, Illinois Jail.
