The mayor of Pearl, Illinois in Pike County was arrested for his alleged involvement in an altercation in Pearl Saturday night.

Pike County Sheriff Paul Petty reports deputies were called to Pearl at 11:23 p.m. Saturday on a report of an altercation in the street between two women.

The fight reportedly started when a woman came out of her home to tell the driver of an SUV to slow down while driving by her house. This resulted in an altercation between the two, which escalated when others became involved.

One of those who got involved was the mayor, 53 year old Timothy Fulmer, who was arrested and charged with one count of battery.

Three people were taken to Illini Community Hospital for treatment of injuries suffered in the fight. A fourth was treated at the scene.

Fulmer posted bond and was released.
