Payson Advances to 1A Title Game

EAST PEORIA, Ill. — Megan Boone picked the perfect time for her first home run of the season.
Boone deposited a 1-2 pitch from Tuscola's Erin Walker over the center field fence to give the Payson Seymour softball team a 1-0 victory in the semifinals of the Class 1A state tournament at the EastSide Centre.
Payson Seymour (32-6) will play either Goreville (33-4) or Milledgeville (25-8) in Saturday's noon state championship game.
