Usually, we wait until Friday to do our "Here's what going on this weekend," story, but this weekend is so chock full, it actually gets started Friday.

New London Park Days starts Friday with opening ceremonies at 11 a.m. Friday also includes pageants, music and more. Saturday is full, as well, with a baby contest, a 5K race, a parade, lots of music and the Food, Wine and Craft Beer Festival. Both days feature craft booths, a beer garden, food vendors, a carnival and more.

The Dark River Derby Coalition, Quincy's first women's flat track roller derby league, hosts the Prairieland Punishers as a fundraiser for Homeward Bound Waggin. That's Saturday at Scottie's Fun Spot. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with action starting at 7.

The Mexico Young Farmers' 9th annual Truck and Tractor Pull is Saturday at the Audrain County 4-H Fairgrounds in Mexico. There will be eleven classes of trucks and tractors pulling in an event sanctioned by the Illinois Tractor Pullers Association and Xcaliber Pulling. The pulling starts at 7 p.m.

It's Second Saturday Gallery Night in downtown Hannibal from 5 to 8 p.m., with the historic district's galleries and businesses open for business.
