The Palmyra School Board has begun the search for a new school superintendent.

Eric Churchwell submitted his resignation to the board this week after 25 years in the Palmyra district, the last 14 as superintendent.

The 50 year old Churchwell will be eligible for full retirement benefits when he leaves the district next June 30th.

The district will post the job opening in the next week and hope to name a new superintendent by early February.
