For the second week in a row, the Palmyra Panthers come up just short against a highly regarded Clarence Cannon Conference foe. Friday night, Palmyra made the rainy road trip to Centralia, and lost in double ouvertime, 18-12. Each team scored in the second quarter, Palmyra on a 67 yard punt return by Alec Bland. Then, both squads broke the plane in the final period, with Caleb Kiser catching a nine yard pass from Brock Butler to tie the game with no time left on the clock. Palmyra could have won in regulation, but the kick for conversion was wide. Neither team could score in the first overtime, but Centralia ended the night when Austin Kincade scored two yards out in the second OT. Palmyra falls to 0-2 and returns home next Friday to take on the South Shelby Cardinals.
