The Hannibal Arts Council will spotlight artists creating in a variety of mediums and residing in a variety of ZIP codes during its next exhibit set to begin on August 16. The works of Jason Mejer, Robin Johnson and a dozen artists making up the “Out-Of-Towners” exhibit will be on display at the Hannibal Arts Council from August 16 through September 14.

The exhibit will kick off with an Opening Reception on Friday, August 16 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Hannibal Arts Council, 105 S. Main St. Honorary gallery hosts for the evening will be the Friday Writers Group and the Golden Eagle Distributing featured beverage will be Beck’s.

Jason Mejer of Quincy and Robin Johnson of Louisiana were the big winners in last fall’s 48th Annual Hannibal Art Club ORiGINALE Exhibit and Competition. Jason Mejer won Best of Show in the Professional Division and Robin Johnson won Best of Show in the Non-Professional Division. As part of their award package the Hannibal Arts Council invites the winners to be featured in an exhibit the following year.

A dozen artists who do not have a Hannibal ZIP code and represent a broad range of mediums and styles are the focus of the Out-Of-Towners exhibit. Invited to participate in this special exhibit are Andrew Lopez, John Bartz III, Daniel (Eric) Phillips, Todd Wiseman, Gary and Judy Rice, Lance Stroheker, Andrew Meyer, Ann Titus, Joe Conover, Craig Norton and Sylvana Purcell.

Hannibal Arts Council hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Wednesday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. Hannibal Arts Council is closed Tuesdays and Sundays. Evening viewing hours will be offered 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, September 14 during Second Saturday Gallery Night.
