Two young Canton boys are safe and Canton Police Department have cancelled an endangered person advisory.

The advisory was issued for a missing person incident reported at 1:30 Sunday morning. Authorities say the boys father, 28-year-old Kyle Tate, was taken into custody Sunday afternoon in Kansas without incident and is held pending formal charges from the Canton Police department.

The two boys, ages 6 and 8, are in protective custody. The Missouri Highway Patrol indicates Tate was armed and was involved in a domestic disturbance in Canton and had threatened to harm himself and others.

It is believed that Tate was en route to Clinton Oklahoma when he was stopped.
