Not Guilty Plea in Huckleberry Park Assault Case
One of three people arrested following a June assault in Hannibal’s Huckleberry Park pleads not guilty to the charges.
18-year-old Aaron Weatherby entered his plea during a court appearance Monday. 21-year-old Lauren Sinclair and 24-year-old Zachary Kuntz also face assault charges. Kuntz is also charged with unlawful use of a weapon. Weatherby’s next court appearance is September 8.
The three suspects allegedly assaulted two New London men late the night of June 6 at Huckleberry Park in Hannibal. The victims, ages 21 and 22, were treated at Hannibal Regional Hospital.
Hannibal police said in a news release that the two victims had gone to the park to meet with another person and were assaulted by a group of people.
The suspects were arrested on June 7 at a home in Eolia be the Pike County Sheriff’s Department and the Missouri Highway Patrol.
