No charges will be filed against the Hannibal Police officer involved in a shooting last year.

An internal investigation conducted by HPD into the officer involved shooting that occurred January 24th, 2015 concluded that Sgt. Darrin DeLaPorte acted according to protocol.

DeLaPorte was on duty and in uniform at B&B Theatre in downtown Hannibal when a car chase began in the area.

DeLaPorte fired his service weapon toward the car, striking a passenger. The wound was non-life threatening.

The driver of the car, DaMark Rudd, recently pleaded guilty to charges in connection with the incident and was sentenced to prison.
