(St. Louis, Mo)--St. Louis is a now a “No Refusal Zone.”

That means if you are suspected of driving under the influence, you can’t refuse to take a breath test.  If you do so, the police will get a search warrant which allows blood to be drawn and analyzed to determine how drunk you might be.

About 22 percent of all drivers refuse nationwide, but that percentage is more than twice as high in St. Louis.  Local officials say the new rule is being put in place to reduce fatalities and force drunk drivers to comply.
