A Hannibal man pleads guilty and is sentenced for his part in a botched robbery and shooting.

Marion County Prosecuting Attorney David Clayton announced Monday that 22 year old John Newman pleaded guilty to attempted robbery, assault and armed criminal action and will serve a total of 15 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections.

Newman is one of four people charged in the attempted robbery and shooting of 29 year old Ronald Gillum, Jr. on November 20th of 2016.

Of the others charged in the case, 25 year old Stephanie Pettit received probation for her cooperation and 18 year old Thomas Willemark got a ten year suspended sentence. The case against 16 year old Austin Anderson is still pending.
