A couple from New Mexico faces several felony drug charges after police found large amounts of heroin and cocaine in their vehicle during a traffic stop in southwest Illinois.

Twenty-eight-year-old Jorge Miramontes and 27-year-old Erica Miramontes were charged Monday with two counts each of trafficking in a controlled substance and two counts of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver. The Belleville News-Democrat reports that both face more than 100 years in prison if convicted of the charges.

According to Madison County State's Attorney Tom Gibbons, officers conducting a traffic stop Oct. 23 on Interstate 70 in Madison County found 23 pounds of heroin and 10 pounds of cocaine in the couple's vehicle.

Both of them are being held at the Madison County Jail on $500,000 bail.
