A New London man is in custody after leading law enforcement on a high speed chase through Ralls County Saturday.

According to Ralls County Sheriff Gerry Dinwiddie, the chase began with a traffic stop involving 37-year-old Patrick Folweiler. The chase began on Highway 19 south of Center, continued on Routes H and A, crossing Highway 61 and ending when Folweiler’s tires were flattened by police stop sticks. Folweiler’s car crashed at First and Main Streets in New London.

Folweiler was observed by deputies and troopers throwing a number of items out of his car during the chase. The items were found to be meth making materials.

Folweiler was taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment of injuries suffered in the crash and then taken to the Marion County Jail.
