(BOWLING GREEN)-- Bowling Green has a new police chief, and he’s a familiar face.    The Board of Aldermen agreed Monday to hire Don Nacke. The 60-year-old St. Charles native was a deputy at the Pike County Sheriff’s Department for 30 years. For almost the last decade, he has served as deputy juvenile officer in the 45th Judicial Circuit covering Pike and Lincoln counties.

Nacke has been a volunteer with the Bowling Green Fire Department for 25 years, including two stints as chief, but says he plans to retire from it.

Nacke will take office in January and will replace Don Wickenhauser, who resigned in August after four years on the job to take a similar position in suburban St. Louis.
