(Hannibal)— Over 40 bowlers hit the lanes of Ten Pin Alleys in Hannibal Saturday evening for the 4th Annual Northeast Independent Living Services, or N.E.I.L.S. fundraiser. Executive Director Brooke Kendrick says the strong turnout helps support the mission of NEILS, which is to empower persons with disabilities to live as full and productive members of society.
Kendrick says the non-profit agency serves more than just the elderly disabled population of 6 counties in Northeast Missouri, a youth services coordinator has been hired to work with youth who have disabilities and providing input to area schools.
One of the fastest growing programs is the Consumer Directed Care Services which allows individuals to remain living in their home independently and have input on the choice of a caregiver.
In addition to bowling, last night’s fundraiser included a 50/50 raffle, auction, and door prizes. NEILS is located at 909 Broadway in downtown Hannibal. For more information about NEILS services, call 573-221-8282.
