A July 9 motion hearing is set in the felony case against a former Pike County sheriff candidate.

Grover Lynn Turner Junior of Louisiana is accused of seven counts of assault and one count of property damage. He also faces a misdemeanor charge of making a false report. A judge on Wednesday granted amended bond conditions.

Turner allegedly caused more than 67 hundred dollars in damage using his pickup truck to ram another vehicle. The incident allegedly took place on Route UU early the morning of July 29 of 2012. There were no injuries.

Turner was a candidate for Pike County sheriff in 2012, but lost the November election to incumbent Stephen Korte. The case has been moved to Montgomery County on a change of venue.
