Monroe County Sheriff Investigating Officer Impersonator

Authorities in Monroe County are investigating a report of someone impersonating an officer.

The Sheriff’s Department received a report from woman Monday night who said she was pulled over on Highway 24 west of Madison by a vehicle with red and blue flashing lights on its dashboard.

Authorities say the woman told them she rolled her window down enough to talk, but when she realized the person was not an officer, she drove off and went straight home.

Law enforcement officials in Monroe and Randolph counties searched for the vehicle without success.

The man was reportedly wearing beige khaki shorts, a dark colored long sleeved shirt and a dark colored baseball cap.
