With the first major snow storm of 2019 on its way, the Missouri Department of Transportation advises motorists to beware of hazardous road conditions.

In fact, MODOT officials are asking motorists not to travel on Missouri roadways unless necessary.

The warning comes as the National Weather Service predicts total snowfall of up to ten inches in the St. Louis area and parts of central and northeast Missouri, with more snow in isolated areas.

MODOT reminds you that if you need to check road conditions, you can visit the Traveler Information Map at traveler.modot.org. Or, you can call MODOT’s 24-hour road conditions hotline at 888-ASK-MODOT.
