Missouri’s annual Statewide Tornado Drill is scheduled for today.

Plans are to sound warning sirens statewide at 10 a-m. . The importance of the drill was emphasized across the area last night in this area and when an E-F-4 tornado swept through the Perryville area last Wednesday.

Tornadoes were reported by the National Weather Service last night in the Clarence, Palmyra and Maywood areas. Storm sirens were set off in Quincy at 10:22 p-m. Reports indicated damge to buildings and trees in the Emden and Shelbyville areas. South Shelby Athletic Director Rob Wilt says on social media that the storm destroyed the football pressbox and scoreboard and damaged the baseball facility at South Shelby.  Tornadoes were also reported in the Kansas City and Oak Grove areas as the line of storms moved east.
