(JEFFERSON CITY)--The Missouri Senate Appropriations Committee will take public comments on the state’s budget at a hearing today. Several meetings will have been held before the final, 24 billion dollar spending plan is approved. Several appropriations committees in the Missouri house plan to hold public meetings, too. State budget officials are projecting a growth in general revenues of a little over three percent. The new fiscal year starts July 1st. Governor Jay Nixon will deliver his budget proposal during the State of the State address next Monday.
