Work will begin soon on a power line project in northeast Missouri.

A proposal from Ameren Transmission Company of Illinois for a high voltage electric transmission line in northeast Missouri receives approval from the Missouri Public Service Commission. PSC members this week approved Ameren Illinois’ application for the 345-thousand volt transmission line and associated switching station near Palmyra. The new line will run from the Palmyra area to the Missouri-Illinois state line.

Public Service Commission members state that the criteria required were:
1-There must be a need for service.
2-The applicant must be qualified to provide the proposed service.
3-The applicant must have the financial ability to provide the service.
4-The applicant’s proposal must be economically feasible.
5-The service must promote the public interest.
