Before the rains hit, corn planting was going well in Missouri.

Current crop report numbers show 86 percent of corn was in the ground, up from 23 percent last week and up 59 percent compared with this time last year. Corn emergence is at 53 percent, 13 percent ahead of the five-year average.

As for soybeans, planting had progressed to 16 percent complete. The number was 15 percent ahead of last year and three percent ahead of the five-year average.
