Missouri Man Pleads Guilty to Killing Ex-Wife and Children in 1980
A Missouri man has pleaded guilty to killing his ex-wife and her two children in Wyoming in 1980.
A judge in Lander sentenced 71-year-old Gerald Uden to life in prison Friday. His current wife also is charged with murdering her ex-husband in Wyoming the mid-1970s.
Uden admitted in court he shot 32-year-old Virginia Uden, 11-year-old Richard Uden and 10-year-old Reagan Uden, and sank their bodies in a lake. The Riverton Ranger reports Uden said his ex-wife had become "intolerable."
Authorities found Virginia Uden's station wagon after the murder but no sign of the three.
Uden's current wife, 74-year-old Alice Uden, is charged with the first-degree murder of 25-year-old Ronald Holtz five years earlier.
Investigators arrested the Udens at their home in Chadwick, Mo., in September.
