The final week of the regular season in Missouri high school football is upon us, with multiple interesting matchups on tap around the area.

The new number one team in the state in Class 4, the Hannibal Pirates, are home Friday night to take on Columbia Battle, currently the number two team in the polls in Class 5.

Meanwhile, in Palmyra, the traditional rivalry game against Monroe City takes place in Palmyra. This is a battle of the "best of the rest," with Palmyra and Monroe City among the teams receiving votes in Class 2 and Class 1, respectively.

The Hannibal-Battle game can be heard on KICK-FM Friday night at 6:35 p.m., with the Palmyra-Monroe City contest on Y101 at 6:40 p.m.

Elsewhere in the Clarence Cannon Conference, undefeated and eighth ranked Macon entertains ninth rated Centralia in Class 2, Scotland County travels to South Shelby, Brookfield makes the trip to Clark County and Highland is at Louisiana.

In the Eastern Missouri Conference, Wright City is at Bowling Green, Clopton/Elsberry visits Mark Twain and Van-Far goes to South Callaway.

It's week eight of the regular season in Illinois. On the Friday night schedule, it's Quincy Notre Dame at Monmouth Roseville, East Moline at Quincy High, Camp Point Central at Pleasant Hill/Western, Winchester West Central at Mendon Unity, Brown County at North Greene and Pleasant Plains at Pittsfield.
