Missouri Offers Emergency Loans to Farmers

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Missouri Treasurer's Office is offering farmers 24-hour emergency approvals of low-interest loans.

Treasurer Clint Zweifel says the loans are being offered through the Missouri Linked Deposit Program because of drought conditions. Under the program, the state deposists money in banks, which in turn can supply the low-interest loans.
