Missouri 19 Fatal Traffic Crash

(PERRY)—A collision involving a semi and a car on Missouri 19 just south of the Perry Junction at 3 p.m. Monday claims the life of a Jefferson City man.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says a car driven by 40-year-old Jason Wood of Jefferson City crossed the center line and hit a semi driven by 70-year-old George Johnson of Maywood head on.

The semi went off the road and overturned. Wood’s car came to rest in the road and caught fire. Wood was pronounced dead at the scene. Johnson was taken by air  to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries.
