Miss Illinois Megan Ervin Places in the Top 10

(LAS VEGAS)—Miss Illinois, Megan Ervin, places in the top 10 at the Miss America pageant.

Ervin won the lifestyle and fitness preliminary on Wednesday. For that, she takes home a one thousand dollar Amway scholarship. Miss Iowa, Mariah Carey of Burlington, placed in the top 5. Miss Missouri Tippe Emmott did not place in the final 16.

Miss America for 2013 is Mallory Hytes Hagan, Miss New York.
