(QUINCY)—A request for a mental examination of the man accused of killing 53 year old Terry Williams in Quincy is granted.

Vincent Carter is accused of killing Williams. He appeared in Adams County Circuit Court Wednesday. Chief Public Defender Holly Henze filed the request. The report is due February 13th. Judge Scott Walden will make a determination as to whether Carter is fit to to stand trial.

Carter is charged in the January 3rd shooting death of Williams at 219 South 11th. He’s held in the Adams County Jail.
