(Washington, D.C.)—U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill, D-Mo. says although the deal isn’t perfect, she voted with the majority of Senators. The fiscal compromise passed the Senate 89-8 in the wee hours Tuesday morning. It preserves middle tax cuts while raising rates on incomes over $400,000 for individuals and $450,000 for couples.  McCaskill says in addition to protecting tax rates for the middle class, the compromise also prevents a pay raise for members of Congress.  The Compromise Bill now heads to the House of Representatives for deliberation.
