A Quincy man pleads guilty to attempted murder and is sentenced to 20 years in prison Thursday morning.

19 year old Coby Matlick admitted that he stabbed an Adams County Jail corrections officer during a failed escape attempt last July.

Matlick’s trial on the charge was to have begun Monday.

Matlick was also ordered to pay over $15,000 in medical bills for officer Brian Doellman, the victim of the stabbing.

Matlick will begin serving his sentence after he finishes a three-and-a-half year sentence on an aggravated battery conviction.
